From the creative director of The Store x Soho House Berlin, just opened on Walton Street,  Alex Eagle x The Store is an expertly sourced new retail experience translated into a physical environment by Benchmark. Alex Eagle x The Store presents a considered edit of fashion, furniture, art, design, photography, ceramics, rare books, and curiosities.
Designed by Alex Eagle and Gianni Alen-Buckley, Benchmark were approached to craft bespoke furniture and fittings throughout, to create a refined environment rather like an elegant and beautifully displayed home. But, here everything is for sale, including the rails, display tables and cabinets.
Reflecting the carefully curated edit of objects within Alex Eagle x The Store, Benchmark selected the best quality materials such as solid maple, brass, and Striato Olympo marble. Using their highly skilled team of craftsmen, and knowledge of traditional craft combined with modern design sensibilities, the furniture and fittings are movable and flexible to use. This meets the needs of an ever changing and evolving space.

Ground Floor: Fashion, Jewellery and Accessories

Refined and minimally lined hanging rails, in brushed and polished brass with a lacquered finish, stand firm on a streamlined Striato Olympo marble base. For the feel of service and classic haberdashery departments, the Tall Boy display chests with low fronted haberdashery-style pull out cedar display drawers, are set within a painted carcass in Farrow & Ball Railings, with profiled sides and front. The triptych of mirrors with a maple frame allows easy observation, as well as playing with reflections of The Store. The jewellery is showcased in wall mounted glass and maple cases with pullout trays that have fluorescent perspex bases.

First Floor: Library / Records

A central feature is the 3 metre-long sycamore single board display table. It maintains its waney edge, celebrating the beauty of the tree itself. This sits atop a triangular profiled brass stand, which is more an art piece than display table. The record artwork is displayed to full effect, each housed in individual clear acrylic wall-mounted boxes, to be opened by the visitors themselves for browsing.

Second Floor: Bedroom / Linen

Coveted linens are displayed in armoires, like a well-kept linen cupboard, which open to reveal maple shelves laden with the best linens.
