The Mason has a  solid oiled oak frame with traditional peg joints and a zinc top.  The charm of zinc is that it because it stains quite easily (lemon juice, alcohol and salt are particularly likely to stain), every table tells a story!  It’s easy to look after – it  should simply be wiped clean as needed and allowed to age gracefully.

The Mason looks great paired with our Mason Bench or Vienna chairs.

Perfectly jointed...

We love the honesty of this exposed joint.  Not only a lovely detail, driving a wooden peg through a morticed and tenoned joint makes it even stronger.

Peace of Mind

We take pride in all our goods being made to exceptional standards but because things sometimes go wrong, our returns policy states that where a damaged or faulty piece of furniture is delivered, we will do our utmost to rectify the error as quickly as possible. Care guides

Care instructions for Mason Table

Zinc Top

The Mason table top is made from pure Zinc Sheet which has been patinated and waxed. It is a hard wearing and easily cleaned surface but it is marked very easily especially by alcohol, carbonated liquids, lemon juice, orange juice or any acidic substance, and salt amongst others. These marks are not possible to remove, but in time, will add to the overall patination of the table top. The zinc is also very soft and easily scratched.

You should not use abrasive cleaners or scourers of any kind on the surface as this will remove the patination and leave a bright patch. Never use Cif or other cream cleaners. Never place hot pans directly onto your table top as this can cause the zinc to bubble.
To wash down, use an ordinary non-abrasive detergent (Fairy Liquid) and water. Re- waxing may be done from time to time using an ordinary furniture wax polish and a soft cloth.

The oak  legs of the Mason Table are oiled with Osmo Polyx Oil  which is a hard wax oil that is lightly applied to keep the timber looking and feeling as natural as possible.  The wax will be fully hardened after 4 weeks.  Particular care should be taken in the first few weeks after delivery.

To clean on a daily basis simply wipe with a damp cloth and then remove any moisture with a dry cloth.  Wipe off anything that will stain straight away, eg red wine, balsamic vinegar, oil, tea, coffee, alcohol, etc.
