The Honor One Drawer is part of the Honor range - a collection that includes bedside tables, chests of drawers and wardrobes.  It is a timeless design with sleek lines, beautiful dovetailed drawers and hand turned knobs.  We make it in either oiled walnut or oak with the choice of a timber or honed Carrara marble top which brings a touch of luxury to the collection.

Terence Conran is one of the world’s best known designers. He founded Benchmark with Sean Sutcliffe over 30 years ago and our workshop and showroom are situated in the grounds of his country home.  He often says that Benchmark is the business that is closest to both his home and his heart.

Oak is sturdy and durable with a rich and open grain.  We oil it with a whitened, hard wax oil which keeps it looking close to its natural, raw state.

How to Order

You can place your order online but if you would prefer to speak to one of the team to discuss any aspects of your order, please call us on 01488 608020. Please check the delivery information below to see whether you are eligible for free delivery.  If not, then you will not be able to place your order online so please call us for a delivery quote.

We are always happy to chat through timber, finish and fabric choices.  Alternatively e-mail sales@benchmarkfurniture.com or better still, visit us at our showroom and while you are here, we would be delighted to show you around the workshop.

Lead Times

All our pieces are made to order and crafted to the highest quality. We don't cut corners or compromise our standards so please be aware that your order may sometimes take up to 8 weeks. We will e-mail you when we have booked your order into the workshop and give you an estimated delivery date. We will be in  touch again in the weeks prior to delivery.

Delivery

We have our own fleet of vehicles and drivers to ensure safe delivery. Where we can’t deliver ourselves due to distance, we work with partner companies who offe the same high quality service and care.  Your furniture will be carefully blanket wrapped to protect it whilst in transit, delivered into the room of your choice, unwrapped and assembled as required.  Please let us know if you have any access issues.

We offer free delivery to postcodes starting with the following prefixes:

Authenticity

Each piece of furniture we sell has a mark in the form of a discreetly fixed polished pewter disk that shows that it is an authentic Benchmark original. This is individually numbered and a record of the piece and purchaser is kept in our register.

Peace of Mind

We take pride in all our goods being made to exceptional standards but because things sometimes go wrong, our returns policy states that where a damaged or faulty piece of furniture is delivered, we will do our utmost to rectify the error as quickly as possible. If you are unhappy with your purchase for other reasons, let us know within seven days and we will guarantee a refund providing the item is returned in "as new condition" within 14 days. Unfortunately we are unable to refund shipping, handling or insurance charges, except of course in the case of any errors on our part. Bespoke pieces made to special order cannot be refunded, unless there is a fault with the product.

We are confident that our furniture will stand the test of time and offer a five year guarantee against defective workmanship and materials. However, please note that most of our furniture is made of solid timber, and you should expect it to move slightly in damp or overly dry conditions.

Please note that for pieces that are not made by Benchmark, such as Vienna Chairs and Carl Hansen Chairs, we are only able to offer a one year guarantee against defective workmanship.

Care guides

Care instructions for wood and marble

 

Wood

We use Osmo Polyx Oil  which is a hard wax oil that is lightly applied to keep the timber looking and feeling as natural as possible.  The wax will be fully hardened after 4 weeks.  Particular care should be taken in the first few weeks after delivery.

To clean on a daily basis simply wipe with a damp cloth and then remove any moisture with a dry cloth.  Wipe off anything that will stain straight away eg red wine, balsamic vinegar, oil, tea, coffee, alcohol, etc.

Carrara Marble

The marble top is sealed which offers a layer of protection.   To clean the marble it should be washed with a light solution of soap and warm water on a weekly basis. For more stubborn soiling, a light scrubbing with a soft brush may help. Ensure that water is not allowed to rest on the face for long periods. Any residue may be wiped off with a damp chamois leather.

Do not use any abrasive cleaners or expose the marble to acid, oil or solvent-based products as they may damage the surface.  A good quality furniture polish can be used to bring out a shine.
